Description: This four-part comprehensive webinar series is tailored for paralegals who wish to deepen their understanding of tort law. Participants will explore the fundamentals of tort cases, including negligence, intentional torts, and strict liability. The courses will cover key concepts such as duty of care, breach, causation, and damages. Through a case study, paralegals will discover how to prepare jury instructions effectively, plan for the presentation of witnesses and exhibits, and understand the elements of a NIED (negligent infliction of emotional distress) claim.

Kari K. Jacobson, Esq., is a shareholder of La Cava Jacobson & Goodis. Born in Miami, Florida, she graduated with a BA from the University of Florida in 1989 and with a JD from the University of Miami School of Law in 1992. Ms. Jacobson began her career as a prosecutor and went on to defend self-insured companies, insurance companies, and those they insure.
Ms. Jacobson was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1992 and is admitted to the US District Courts of the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. She is a member of The Florida Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Collier County Bar Association, the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, and the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance. She is also a member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel. Through the Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™, she received the highest rank of AV Preeminent®.
