Amber Roberts, ACP, has been a member of NePA since 2011. She is the current Treasurer and previously served on the board as President, NALA Liaison, and Publications Editor, to name a few. Amber was responsible for the major revamp of NePA’s e-zine, the In Brief, and has worked continuously in the past few years to get NePA’s committees to collaborate smoothly through better communication and planning. She has been a paralegal since 2008 and currently works at Kiewit Corporation in Omaha, Nebraska, where she focuses on technology, information governance, and being a resource to the legal team that handles eDiscovery. She is also a LEAP alum, published in Facts and Findings, a frequent speaker at NePA’s luncheons and seminars, and an ACP® in seven areas. She was thrilled to speak at the NALA Conference in 2017 and 2019.

Kim Brown, ACP, CAS, is a paralegal at Smith Pauley and supports the firm’s litigation practice. She has more than 25 years of litigation experience, assisting attorneys with all aspects of litigation, including conducting initial witness interviews and extensive background checks, drafting medical summaries, pleadings, discovery, deposition outlines, exhibit lists, and settlement agreements and releases; and assisting at depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials. Kim also has experience with eDiscovery and trial presentation software. She works regularly in matters in state, federal, and appellate courts.
Kim graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska and spent a year abroad at Lancaster University in the United Kingdom, studying psychology. She earned her Certified Paralegal (CP®) designation from NALA – The Paralegal Association in 2010. Since then, she has earned her Advanced Certified Paralegal (ACP®) designations in Trial Practice, Discovery, and California Advanced Specialization in Discovery. Kim has volunteered for the Nebraska Paralegal Association in many capacities and currently serves at the national level on NALA’s Certifying Board and Advanced Certified Paralegal Task Force. Kim is a LEAP alum and served on the review team for NALA’s LEAD program. Kim also published an article for Facts & Findings Bonus Issue: Career 101 and contributed to the NALA Manual for Paralegals and Legal Assistants: A General Skills & Litigation Guide for Today’s Professionals. She was honored to speak at the NALA Conference in 2017 and 2019.
