Description: Trauma can affect how clients remember, communicate, make decisions, and follow through—sometimes in ways legal professionals may misinterpret. This practical webinar provides paralegals with guidance on recognizing common trauma responses and communicating in ways that support clarity, trust, and effective participation without stepping outside their professional role. Participants will explore ways to identify how trauma may appear in client interactions, use questions and responses designed to reduce distress and improve communication, and maintain appropriate boundaries while gathering information and supporting clients through legal processes. Participants will gain practical insights on ways to communicate with clients affected by trauma and how to apply those skills during client interviews, difficult conversations, and situations involving incomplete or inconsistent information.
