With so much going on in our lives and in the world around us, it can be a challenge to know how to respond when everything seems too much. Decades of research on stress and resilience reveal simple approaches that have been repeatedly proven to improve coping, wellbeing, and overall life satisfaction. These tactics can help us move from high emotion to thoughtful action more quickly. 
In this session, we will provide a short primer on what happens when we feel overwhelmed and teach participants our three-step resiliency model for bouncing back, including: 
  • The science behind stress reactions 
  • Common causes of workplace overwhelm 
  • How to recognize when you are in overwhelm 
  • Three steps to take that will help you move forward 
As a result, you will have new tools you can turn to quickly no matter what challenges you face.

Presenter Biography: Owner of a 2022 Top 20 Workplace Wellness provider, a 2022 Top 10 Emerging Organizational Change company, and named a top 100 HR Professional of 2020, Dr. Allessandria Polizzi left her 20-year HR career, following recovery from burnout, to help others address wellbeing at work. With a cadre of diverse affiliates from around the globe, Verdant Consulting helps build the skills needed for today’s workplace. Their programs focus on implementing the latest scientific resiliency, burnout prevention, and psychological safety research to help people, teams, and organizations navigate change, bounce back from challenges, and create belonging. Dr. Polizzi is also co-founder of the Kite HR wellbeing app for HR professionals and shares in-the-moment discoveries on all of these topics via the Be Verdant podcast. She currently resides outside of Boston with her husband, 2 children, pug, parrot, and elderly goldfish.
