NALA Board of Directors Elected Position Details

The elected positions on the NALA Board of Directors for 2025 are Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and two At Large Directors. Details for each of these positions can be found below. Qualified members interested in declaring their candidacy for these positions must complete and submit the Declaration of Candidacy packet by March 15, 2025.

BOARD POSITIONS

The vice president shall exercise the functions of the president in the absence or disability of the president and, when so acting, shall have all of the powers and authority of the president. The vice president shall perform such other duties as from time to time may be assigned by the directors or the president. The vice president is elected by the membership and serves for a term of one year from election.

The secretary ensures the integrity of Board documents, provides accurate minutes of Board meetings, oversees
mail votes conducted for the Board, and sits on the Executive Committee. The secretary is elected by the
membership and serves for a term of one year from election.

The treasurer submits recommended policies to the Board concerning financial planning and budgeting; approves
all Board expenses for payment; serves as chair of NALA’s Budget Committee, which develops a budget for each
fiscal year; presents financial reports to the Board and membership; and sits on the Executive Committee. The
treasurer is elected by the membership and serves for a term of one year from election.

At Large Directors are required to either reside or be employed within areas 1, 2, or 3. Their role involves fulfilling the duties assigned to them by Board officers. These directors will serve a two-year term and may be re-elected for up to one additional, consecutive two-year term.
