Speak at the 2027 NALA Conference & Expo

Conference Registration
Speakers receive complimentary full conference registration, which includes access to educational sessions, receptions, meetings, and the Expo Hall.

Travel
NALA will make and pay for all travel arrangements based on the speaker’s teaching schedule. Arrangements include round-trip airfare tickets from the speaker’s airport to the venue’s airport.

Hotel
NALA will cover the lodging costs, including the night before the speaker’s first session through the night after their final session.

Ground Transportation
NALA will cover round-trip transportation from the speaker’s home to their local airport and from the conference city’s airport to the conference hotel.

Meals
NALA will cover reasonable meal expenses for travel days and conference days (not to exceed IRS per diem rates).

Our feature sessions are specialized topics that help legal professionals:

• Stay up to date on legal trends
• Gain exposure to other practice areas of interest
• Grow professionally
• Learn about important ethical topics

Substantive and legal ethics topics are highly preferred to ensure sufficient continuing legal education (CLE) credits for conference attendees. However, non-substantive topics are welcome. Your proposal must include at least one substantive topic. You can find definitions and examples of each CLE type here.

Levels

We acknowledge that paralegals vary greatly in their experience and the type of work that they do. We are looking for a variety of topics to cover various levels:

Basic: A basic level is most appropriate for professionals with little or no experience in the subject area. This level may also benefit seasoned professionals with limited exposure to the subject area or those looking for a refresher course.

Intermediate: An intermediate level is most appropriate for professionals knowledgeable in the subject area. This level deals with less common legal situations and may include a more in-depth presentation.

Advanced: An advanced level is designed for professionals with specialized knowledge or experience in the subject area. This level would also be appropriate for experienced professionals pursuing knowledge to deal with more complex issues.

We are looking for primarily intermediate and advanced sessions.

Feature Session Eligibility

To be considered, presenters must meet one of the following criteria:

• Attorney or paralegal in good standing with any applicable regulatory authority or certifying body
• Faculty member of a college or university
• Legal vendor or professional working in the legal field

And have one of the following:

• Specialized training in the subject of the proposed presentation
• Extensive experience involving the subject of the proposed presentation

Best Practices

• Submit two or three proposals on any combination of feature and CP^® review topics (three proposals are preferred to ensure the best diversity of topics)
• Topics MUST be related to the legal profession.
• Speakers must agree to present at least two different topics at conference and present each session up to two times during conference (for up to four total sessions).

CP® Review Session Eligibility

To be considered, presenters must meet the following criteria:

• Professional qualifications
• In good standing with their professional regulatory board (if applicable)
• Legal or technical expertise to present effectively on a subject

And be one of the following:

• Attorney or NALA Certified Paralegal in good standing
• Faculty member of a college or university

Presenters cannot be a:

• Certified Paralegal Exam Proctor within the last two years
• Volunteer for reviewing or updating the Certified Paralegal Exam
