October Volunteer Spotlight – Vicki L. Kasper, ACP

NALA Volunteer Spotlight – October 2023
Vicki L. Kasper, ACP

Vicki L. Kasper, ACP, is an Integrated Solutions Legal Specialist with Lineage Logistics. She has a BS in paralegal studies from Minnesota State University Moorhead. She has an Advanced Certified Paralegal (ACP®) credential in Business Organizations: Incorporated Entities.

Prior to her current position as Area 3 Director on the NALA Board of Directors, she served on the Continuing Education Council (CEC) and Professional Development Committee and as Ethics Chair.

Vicki credits Nancy Jordahl, ACP, a former Area 1 Director, for getting her to volunteer with NALA. She approached Vicki, told her about the CEC, and asked if she had any interest in serving.

“It sounded like a great opportunity for me to get involved and to serve NALA.”

She enjoys being part of a group of like-minded individuals who want to do what they can to improve the paralegal profession and forward NALA’s mission and vision.

When it comes to paralegal work, she likes the problem-solving aspect of it the most.

Vicki wrote several articles for Facts & Findings during her time on the CEC and as Ethics Chair.

Her advice for paralegals is, “Never be afraid to ask questions. Learn from those around you. Never stop learning. Networking with other paralegals and getting involved in local and national associations is important.”

In Vicki’s personal experience, whenever she has had a question about something that is not her expertise, she has been able to reach out to a fellow paralegal who knows more about it to get information. That is the power of networking.

If Vicki could meet anyone, dead or alive, she would choose Ruth Bader Ginsburg because of the work she did and how inspirational she was to so many people.

Vicki lives in a suburb of Salt Lake City, Utah, with her 13-year-old morkie, Stella. In her free time, she enjoys being outside and spending time with friends. She is a hockey enthusiast and has attended the NCAA Frozen Four for the last 11 years in a row. She is also in two book clubs. Her favorite genre is suspense/thriller, specifically legal thrillers. Her favorite book is The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides.
