February Volunteer Spotlight – Bridget Stuhr, ACP
NALA Volunteer Spotlight – February 2023
Bridget Stuhr, ACP
Bridget Stuhr, ACP, is a senior paralegal at Kutak Rock LLP in Ohama, Nebraska. She obtained her accelerated paralegal certificate from Metro Community College and her bachelor’s degree in sociology with an emphasis on criminal justice. She became the NALA Affiliated Associations Secretary after the secretary at that time, who was about to become director, asked her to take over as the secretary. Bridget later moved into the position of Director. She enjoys the camaraderie and friendships she has within NALA. She loves national networking and “getting perspectives from other people who are doing something similar but from across the country.”
Bridget currently works in corporate real estate with a focus in tax credits. She likes the variety that comes from being a paralegal. She has written several articles for NALA publications, including Facts & Findings and the Affiliated Associations newsletters. Her most recent article in Facts & Findings’ January 2023 edition was titled “Is it a Priority of Our Success or is Success a Priority?”
Her advice for paralegals is, “Don’t be afraid to try something new. You can easily find a niche that will match your interests. The opportunities in the legal field are absolutely endless.”
Bridget and her husband, Brian, have three active kids. Isabella is her 14-year-old, Mary is her 10-year-old, and Liam is her 6-year-old. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and watching sports.
She’d love to reconnect with her grandmother, who passed away in 2005. Her grandmother had a wealth of knowledge and experience and wasn’t afraid to laugh at herself. “I would truly enjoy sitting down and chatting with her for an afternoon, like we used to do.” Bridget enjoyed listening to her grandma’s stories while watching her garden.
