Presenter Biography: Leanne Cardoso lives in Morgantown, WV, with her kids, cats, and dogs. She is best known in the paralegal world as “LeanneTheLawyer” from her YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/@ItsOnlyaPlanet), which provides instruction on various topics to students interested in learning more about the law, Certified Paralegal (CP) Exam strategies, and English. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English/comparative literature in 1994 from West Virginia University (WVU) and a JD from WVU Law School in 1999. Leanne has worked in both small and large law firms, but for the majority of her legal career, she was a sole practitioner. The flexibility of being her own boss allowed her to pursue her passion for teaching alongside her career as a lawyer. Her legal practice focused  on trial work and litigation in both criminal and civil courts. She was an avid pro bono advocate for victims of domestic violence for many years. Since 2000, Leanne has been teaching classes related to the law, business, English, and general education at the college level. She proudly served as the Assistant Campus Director, Academic Dean, and Legal Program Director of the West Virginia Junior College for over a decade. She also served in a quasi-judicial role as the Chair of the Morgantown Board of Zoning Appeals for several years.  After some health-related issues forced her to slow down, she began focusing solely on teaching and became an LSAT certification specialist for Kaplan. She is currently a professor at Salem University.
