April 2026 Volunteer Spotlight – Kristin Kadaj, ACP

Kristin Kadaj, ACP, brings professional depth and a strong commitment to service to her role on NALA’s Professional Development Committee (PDC). She is the owner of a freelance paralegal business and an active leader within the Florida legal community. Her work reflects a clear focus on advancing the profession.
As a Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP), Kristin is heavily involved with The Florida Bar. She serves on the Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee, the Florida Registered Paralegal Eligibility and Compliance Committee, and the Florida Registered Paralegal Enrichment Committee. She is also the At Large Director of the Paralegal Association of Florida, Inc., and President of the Pinellas Chapter. She holds a bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies and a NALA Advanced Certified Paralegal (ACP®) credential.
Kristin’s decision to volunteer for NALA stems from a desire to give back.
“I want to help support the organization that has supported me as I continue to grow as a paralegal,” she shared.
She wants to champion paralegals at various career stages and promote their expanding role in the legal field. In her position on the PDC, she has contributed to Facts & Findings and presented CLE sessions on the unlicensed practice of law. She also assists with the formation and implementation of initiatives to enhance paralegal professional development.
Kristin emphasizes the importance of the committee’s work, remarking that it is part of NALA’s bigger picture.
“We encourage continuous growth for new and seasoned paralegals, helping them stay current with evolving laws, technology, and best practices,” she expressed.
One of Kristin’s favorite things about being involved with NALA is the people.
“I enjoy the connections I’ve made with other members of the committee and the NALA community,” she revealed. “I have met so many people with all levels and areas of experience working together toward a common goal.”
Her first NALA conference was for the 50th anniversary in 2025. Everything she learned and everyone she met made a great impression, and she looks forward to making more memories at future conferences.
Kristin is currently focused on growing her freelance business while maintaining a “balanced and fulfilling life outside of work.”
Aside from her professional endeavors, she loves spending time with her husband, their two Australian Shepherds, and her friends by traveling, exploring new places, and being outdoors.
Through her local and national service and her commitment to the profession, Kristin demonstrates the positive impact that a passionate person can have on the paralegal field.
