Lien Resolution 101

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will be able to identify the types of payors and recovery vendors commonly encountered in personal injury cases and understand their respective rights to reimbursement from settlement proceeds.
2. Participants will be able to apply a structured seven-step lien resolution process, from initial payor identification through final negotiation, to manage liens efficiently and reduce exposure for the firm and the client.
3. Participants will be able to recognize common lien resolution errors that lead to delayed settlements, overpayment, and malpractice risk, and implement best practices to avoid them
