Illinois Paralegal Association
Access to justice remains one of the most urgent challenges in today’s legal system, calling for ethical, practical, and forward-thinking solutions. Ethical Decision-Making, Professional Responsibility, and Expanding Access to Justice: An Inclusive Approach to Allied Legal Professionals and Technology explores how legal professionals can meet this moment by strengthening competence, embracing technology fluency, and addressing bias within modern legal workflows. Grounded in the American Bar Association Model Rules of Professional Conduct, the Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct, and the National Federation of Paralegal Associations Model Code of Ethics, this CLE examines how ethical duties related to communication, supervision, and client service intersect with evolving technology and workforce models. Participants will gain practical strategies to leverage technology as an equalizer, enhance cultural awareness, and design more inclusive, client-centered processes that improve outcomes while maintaining compliance and professional integrity in today’s complex legal environment.
