Houston Paralegal Association

The 2026 HPA CLE Conference, hosted by the Houston Paralegal Association, is a full-day continuing legal education event held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Moody Gardens Conference Center in Galveston, Texas. The conference offers CLE Hours across Civil Trial, Personal Injury, Bankruptcy, and Family Law, featuring multiple educational tracks, experienced speakers, an ethics luncheon, and practical sessions on current legal topics.

Learning objectives:

Enhance litigation and drafting proficiency.
Participants will strengthen practical skills in document review, party identification, drafting pleadings (petitions, temporary orders, divorce decrees), TRO practice in state and federal court, and effective briefing tailored to judicial expectations.

Develop subject-matter competency in specialized practice areas.
Attendees will gain applied knowledge in bankruptcy adversary proceedings, consumer collection law, appellate practice, asset protection challenges, and emerging issues such as AI deep fakes and insurance coverage.

Improve ethical judgment and professional effectiveness.
Through ethics-focused programming and real-world litigation strategy sessions, participants will reinforce ethical standards for paralegals while improving courtroom readiness, discovery organization, and use of legal technology.
