Texas Probate for Paralegals: A Practical Guide From Intake to Closing Including Intestate Estates

March 10 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CDT
Free – $15

Mark your Calendar! Our March CLE webinar will focus on the purpose of probate in Texas courts. Independent vs dependent administrations, and paralegal responsibilities. This session is ideal for both newcomers and experienced professionals looking to enhance their probate knowledge.

Three Learning Objectives:

1. Analyze and Classify Probate Cases
Attendees will learn how to distinguish between testate and intestate estates under the Texas Estates Code, determine the appropriate probate procedure (e.g., independent administration, dependent administration, small estate affidavit, heirship proceeding), and identify required court filings based on case facts.

2. Manage the Probate Process from Intake to Closing
Attendees will learn how to coordinate and prepare all essential probate documents—from initial client intake and application for probate through notice requirements, inventory preparation, creditor claims management, and final distribution—ensuring compliance with Texas procedural rules and local court requirements.

3. Administer Intestate Estates and Determine Heirship
Attendees will learn how to apply Texas intestacy laws to identify heirs, calculate statutory inheritance shares (including community vs. separate property distinctions), and assist in preparing heirship affidavits and related court pleadings necessary to close intestate estates efficiently and ethically.
