Christopher Gatewood is the founder of Threshold Counsel, a corporate and intellectual property law firm based in Richmond, Virginia. His practice focuses on startup companies, mergers and acquisitions, venture funding, and technology law. He also serves as fractional general counsel for several Virginia-based companies. His M&A experience is largely focused on transactions involving startups and technology companies.
Chris has written on legal topics for a variety of online and print publications, and has spoken to many legal services groups, university classes, and professional associations about topics in his areas of practice. He has presented continuing legal education seminars to attorneys throughout Virginia on topics including startup legal considerations, M&A topics, intellectual property, and social media law. Chris is also the founder of Name Warden, LLC, a web-based practice management product for trademark professionals.
Chris is a graduate of Wake Forest University, and a 2000 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law.
