Mr. Bobby T. Rimas is an Associate Professor at California State University, Los Angeles, College of Professional & Global Education. Subjects taught include Intellectual Property Law, Entertainment Law, Immigration Law, and Administrative Law. He is also a Paralegal for a bank in Pasadena, California.
Mr. Rimas served as President of the Los Angeles Paralegal Association (LAPA) for 6 years in addition to other LAPA positions including Executive Vice President, Vice President of Membership & Policy, Vice President of Marketing & Planning, and LAPA's National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) Liaison. He was awarded the 2013 NALA Affiliates Award "For outstanding contributions to the advancement of the paralegal profession through volunteer service". During his tenure as LAPA President, LAPA was awarded NALA’s “Making a Difference Award” for its pro bono, community service, scholarship, and educational programs. In December 2017, he received LAPA's "Outstanding Leadership Award".
Mr. Rimas was elected Board Member of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Lambda Alumni Association (Lambda) in August 2018. He previously served the UCLA Alumni Association in the capacities of UCLA Pilipino Alumni Association President/Chair, Scholarship Director, and Public Relations Director where he assisted with raising scholarship funds for deserving UCLA students.
In November 2019, Mr. Rimas was appointed to the NALA Diversity and Inclusion Task Force. In July 2017, he was a presenter of the Employment Law and Immigration Law sessions at NALA's 42nd Annual Conference & Expo. in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Rimas also sits on the University of La Verne's Department of Legal Studies Advisory Committee. He graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and a Paralegal Certificate in Litigation/Corporations from the UCLA Extension Attorney Assistant Training Program.
