Description: Between limits of liability, guaranteed payment, indemnity, injunctive relief, mutual vs. one-sided provisions, HIPAA, and FERPA, corporate contracts can be complex. There are laws and statutes, and California has its own set of rules.

 This session will provide tools and resources to walk through the ins and outs of corporate contract review, management, and administration. Join us to learn how to quickly put your hands on the contracts and documents needed for your corporation, get tips for creating a playbook for contract review, and learn about managing your colleagues’ understanding and expectations around contracts. We will also discuss the importance of document retention and management.

Instructor: Leila Gimino

Leila Gimino has worked in the legal field for over 25 years in contract law, complex litigation, employment, and criminal (post-conviction relief). Leila has a paralegal certificate from the University of Arizona Outreach College. She earned her NALA Certified Paralegal (CP) designation in 2014 and her Advanced Certified Paralegal (ACP) in Contracts Administration/Contracts Management in 2017. Leila works as the Legal & Compliance Lead – West for Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC (“MMA”). Leila is also the Vice Chair of MMA’s West Region DE&I Council.

Yes, these courses qualify for mandatory continuing legal education for: National Association of Legal Assistants, State Bar of California, North Carolina, and Louisiana State Paralegal Association.  For all others please check with the corresponding institutions.
