Description: This webinar will review the NALA Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility and other rules and guidelines related to paralegal and legal-assistant ethics. It will also cover the tasks a paralegal generally may perform without engaging in the unauthorized practice of law, issues around protecting client confidentiality and the attorney-client privilege, and considerations for responsible use of social media and electronic communications by law firms and their clients during litigation.

Instructor: Madeline (Molly) McNeeley

Madeline E. McNeeley is a partner at Harris Lowry Manton LLP in Atlanta, where she focuses on catastrophic injury litigation. She previously served at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit as a staff attorney and as a clerk for Judge Peter Fay. Molly writes and presents regularly on roadway safety, commercial transportation, ethics, and litigation practice. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she was selected to the Order of the Coif.

Yes, these courses qualify for mandatory continuing legal education for: National Association of Legal Assistants, State Bar of California, North Carolina, and Louisiana State Paralegal Association.  For all others please check with the corresponding institutions.

When the webinar is over we will run a report in GoToWebinar to track attendance.  Your name and information will show on report if you were logged on and watching the webinar.

Within 1 week of the webinar attendance will be marked and a completion email will be sent stating that your certificate is now available.  To view your certificate and transcript please visit nala.education.  Click on the blue arrow in the top right and select transcipt.  From this menu, you can view or print certificates or your transcript.
