2024 Conference Call for Speakers

BENEFITS OF PRESENTING AT THE CONFERENCE
You may propose for one or both types of sessions featured at the conference:
- Feature Session
- CP Review Session
FEATURE SESSION
Our Feature sessions are specialized topics that help legal professionals:
- Stay up to date on legal trends
- Provide exposure to other practice areas of interest
- Facilitate professional development
- Inform on important ethical topics
Substantive and legal ethics topics are preferred to ensure sufficient Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits for conference attendees however, non-substantive topics are welcome. You can find the definition and example topics for each CLE type here.
Levels
We acknowledge that paralegals vary greatly in their experience and the type of work that they do. We are looking for a variety of topics to cover various levels:
Basic – A basic level is most appropriate for the professional with little or no experience in the subject area being taught. This level may also benefit the seasoned professional with limited exposure to the subject area or someone merely looking for a refresher course.
Intermediate – An intermediate level is most appropriate for the professional knowledgeable in the subject area. This level deals with less common legal situations and may include a more in-depth presentation of topics.
Advanced – An advanced level is designed for professionals with specialized knowledge or experience in the subject area. This level would also be appropriate for the experienced professional pursuing the knowledge to deal with more complex issues.
Feature Session Eligibility
To be considered, presenters must meet one or more of the following:
- Be an attorney or paralegal in good standing with any applicable regulatory authority or certifying body
- Be a faculty member of a college or university
- Be a legal vendor or another professional working in the legal field
- Have specialized training in the subject of the proposed presentation
- Have extensive experience involving the subject of the proposed presentation
Best Practices
- Submit two or three proposals on any combination of feature and CP Review topics (three proposals are preferred to ensure the best diversity of topics)
- Topics MUST be related to the legal profession
- Speakers must agree to present two different topics at conference and present each session up to two times during conference (for up to four total sessions)
CP REVIEW SESSION
These sessions assist those preparing for the Certified Paralegal Exam.
CP Review Topics
CP Review Session Eligibility
To be considered, presenters must have professional qualifications in good standing with their professional regulatory board, if applicable, possess the legal or technical expertise necessary to present on a subject effectively, and meet the following:
- Be an attorney or NALA Certified Paralegal in good standing; and/or
- Be a faculty member of a college or university
Presenters cannot:
- Be a Certified Paralegal Exam Proctor or have been a Proctor within the last two years
- Be a volunteer for reviewing or updating the Certified Paralegal Exam
Best Practices

Selection Timeline
June 1 to September 1, 2023 – Accepting proposals.
September 1 to October 1, 2023 – Proposal reviews.
October 1 to November 30, 2023 – Selected speakers are contacted, agreements sent and signed.
December 1, 2023 – Non-selected speakers are contacted.
