Sheri Crosby Wheeler currently works at Mr. Cooper in Coppell, Texas as a VP, Corporate Social Responsibility. Mr. Cooper is the largest nonbank mortgage servicer in the country. In this position, she is primarily responsible for diversity and inclusion strategies and integration for the entire company. She also works on government relations and state and community relations.
Prior to joining Mr. Cooper, Sheri practiced law at several mid-sized law firms as well as at J.P. Morgan Chase. In her legal practice, she primarily focused on management-side employment law. She is still currently licensed to practice law in Texas and keeps her legal skills sharp and relevant by handling pro bono cases for indigent clients in Dallas County.
Sheri has been a member of Attorneys Serving the Community since 2006, serving as committee chair for numerous committees. In 2006, she was named Outstanding Legal Clinic Volunteer by the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and in 2007 she received the Outstanding Minority Attorney Award from the Dallas Bar Association. In 2008, she was named Outstanding Young Lawyer in both Dallas and the entire State of Texas. She has also served as the Vice-President of the Dallas Women Lawyers Foundation and is a founding member of the Village Giving Circle of the Texas Women’s Foundation.
Sheri received her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and her law degree from the University at Buffalo School of Law (SUNY) in Buffalo, New York.
