Did you know that more than 10,000 people are turning 65 each day? By 2030, more than 70 million people will be 65 years of age or older. Unfortunately, a vulnerable population such as this attracts criminals. There are currently more than five million elder abuse victims in the United States, affecting one in ten adults over the age of 60.

This presentation aims to highlight trends of criminal activity affecting the fastest growing population in the United States. We’ll study examples of financial fraud and physical abuse, and discuss ways you can help protect our elder citizens. Because whether it’s mass marketing schemes, sweepstakes scams, or bait letters, there’s one thing we know for a fact: fraudsters are perfecting the Grandma Hustle.
