Senior Trademark Paralegal (Washington, DC, NYC, San Francisco, or Boston, or Los Angeles)

Progressive D.C. law firm with a growing IP practice is seeking a Senior Paralegal to support their trademark practice group. The candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys with the management of foreign and domestic trademark portfolios in addition to all aspects of USPTO TTAB proceedings (oppositions, cancellations) and civil actions. Specific duties include: management of trademark prosecution deadlines, management of trademark opposition, cancellation, and other conflict matters, review office actions and summarize issues for attorneys, prepare and file trademark applications, statements of use, extensions of time, amendments to allege use, Sections 8 & 15 declarations, and other filings, draft communications with clients and foreign associates, perform domestic and international Trademark searches and draft findings, maintain accurate charts of client’s prosecution matters, and make preliminary evaluations regarding potential specimens showing use for submission. There is a billable requirement of 1536 and the Senior Paralegal is expected to work at a high volume and is expected to handle several thousand marks. In addition, the candidate would be expected to manage cases or corporate transactions, conduct due diligence, interview clients, initiate correspondence, draft agreements, prepare corporate documents, and perform legal and factual research and analysis.

Requirements or Qualifications: 
A college degree is required and a paralegal certificate is preferred. Candidates must possess excellent writing and communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
