Job Summary: The Legal Preservation and Hold Specialist will support litigation teams and be responsible for working with internal and external resources to manage the JLD Legal Hold, Preservation and Collection processes. The ideal candidate for this position would have a high degree of detail-orientation, be familiar with litigation and eDiscovery best practices, be comfortable working with remote teams, possess a team-player attitude, be able to work independently and have a high degree of personal accountability. Applicants must know how to handle confidential information and processes with integrity. Essential job functions: Work with attorneys/paralegals to manage and coordinate legal hold notices. Including using legal hold tool to send hold notices, input custodian names, track responses to notices and follow up with custodians as necessary. Coordinate preservation processes, ensuring that all legal preservation plans are entered correctly and promptly, including completion of any notification documentation to interested parties. Maintain documentation of how preservation is effectuated on data sources relevant to a given matter. Manage process as a method to engage/notify and capture the preservation actions and workflow with fulfillment staff such as eDiscovery, third parties, IT and others. Manage and update preservation plan templates within IT systems. Manage legal preservation and hold stakeholders, vendors and consulting relationships including regularly scheduled meetings, QA, providing feedback to ensure continuous improvement and working through conflict management. Create, maintain and distribute documentation to support processes and procedures associated with legal preservation plans and holds. Manage internal and external resources to monitor appropriate email distribution lists, ensuring that all requests are processed accurately and include appropriate approvals and notifications. Act as a subject matter expert, advising on specifications, implementation and roll out of an improvement to JLDs systems, processes and procedures in support of legal preservation and hold processes. Accumulate, analyze, and interpret data and metrics from various sources and present findings in understandable terms. Manage and approve requests for access to appropriate systems in support of legal preservation and hold processes. Communicate status to a broad audience by creating and distributing regularly scheduled reports and metrics. Provide overflow administrative support to eDiscovery Team as needed including updating the information included on the JLD Intranet pages and knowledge management systems, updating documentation, and other tasks in support of DaVita’s eDiscovery process.
Requirements or Qualifications: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Knowledge of litigation and eDiscovery best practices preferred. Comfortable working with data in different formats and creating and summarizing reports. Experience working with Excel Macros. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Comfortable with learning new software products. Ability to prioritize and organize work for self as well as deliver on commitments and achieve results. Self-starter with ability to drive independent problem solving, comfortable with a constantly evolving environment, comfortable with managing diverse teams, ability to work independently while showing good judgment.
